The competitive environment changes with the release of each new agent, and characters scramble to adjust and/or learn mechanics of the new character added to the game. Especially, players from all over the world are getting excited about Valorant’s newest addition to the ever-expanding roster  VYSE. The purpose of creating this guide is to offer a detailed overview of VYSE so that one can start from scratch knowing the main principles of the game and move further knowing how to apply advanced strategies.  

VALORANT New Agent VYSE Introduction

VYSE is Valorant’s newest agent, coming from a clandestine research lab, he has an assortment of skills that range in the scout and disrupt category. In general, VYSE plays as a Controller agent that aims at influencing the environment available in the battlefield, controlling sight, and providing his team with opportunities. He seems to have skills which fit both the attacking and the defense which is very important in any team.

A. Temporal Distortion (Cost: 200 credits)

VYSE deploys a gadget that projects a time distortion zone that for a while in that small area time does not exist. The field experience indicated that enemies captured in the field had subdued mobility and vision which made it hard for them to maneuver or shoot well. 

Crowd Control: This ability is the best when it comes to managing choke points and nodes. Use it in areas which you know that the enemies will rush through, the molotov will slow them down and they will be sitting ducks for you. 

Post-plant Scenarios: Temporal distortion should be used in defense especially when the spike has been planted to slow down the enemies from making their defuse or push. 

B. Phase Shift (Cost: 100 credits)

VYSE uses a personal device which makes him phase through walls and barriers for a few minutes only. When in this state VYSE is hidden but unable to shoot his gun or employ any other tricks. 

Flanking: Great for sneaking behind enemy lines without being seen is Phase Shift. Employ it to take the enemies by surprise or else avoid any kind of confrontation with them. 

Escape Tool: If ever, you seem to be in a fix, then Phase Shift will assist you in moving off to a safer zone wherein you can join your team or get a better view, angle. 

C. Chrono Trap (Free, 1 Charge per Round)

VYSE lays down this trap that sets off an explosion of time bubble wherein all the players viewing the blast area are momentarily frozen then have the time to slow down for a few seconds when touching the blast area. While Temporal Distortion only targets allies, Chrono Trap is also an ‘enemy disabled’. 

Defensive Tool: If possible, Chrono Traps should be set in the normals in conjunction with choke points or bomb sites to stall enemy advances. The slow will enable your team to counter and take advantage of those enemies that are trapped. 

Combo with Teammates: Stay in a team with other agents such as Raze or Brimstone that have abilities with area of damage. When the Chrono Trap slows down the enemies, the best that they can do is to lay down their guns and sit ducks.  

Ultimate Ability  

D. Time Collapse (7 Ultimate Points) 

VYSE launched a gadget which creates an area-of-effect field, which resets time within the area. Any adversary that gets caught in the field will be returned back to the position they were in, and their condition that they were in 5 seconds before getting caught. This ability can change enemies’ positions, cancel deaths, and disorient combatants. 

Crowd Control and Displacement: It’s best to employ Time Collapse during critical moments such as when the enemy is setting a spike plant or making a coordinated push. It can even nullify their strategy by making them have to start from scratch. 

Team Advantage: You should discuss with your teammates on how to take advantage of the confusion created by the disoriented enemies. While the enemies are struggling to restore their durability after Time Collapse, you can attack them and defeat them. 

VYSE Playstyle: Main Strengths and Weaknesses 

Finally, we turn to VYSE’s strengths and then talk about how to use them to your advantage. All the agents that are used in the game have pros and cons and that is important to know.  

Beginner Playstyle 

Thus, for the beginners, VYSE may appear slightly convoluted because he has powers over time, as well as space. Though, if you practice more, you are able to begin to utilize his abilities to slow down the pace of the game.

Mastering Time Collapse: where and when to apply Time Collapse has a dramatic effect on the overall score of the round. Advanced level players should ensure that they have to identify the most probable time that the enemy would use Time Collapse. 

Combos and Team Coordination: The best outcome is produced when VYSE is used cooperatively in conjunction with other agents. There is no better collaboration than the teammates when it comes to mounting hard-hitting attacks, for example, after using the Chrono Trap for immobilizing the enemies and the subsequent application of utility by agents like Killjoy or Breach. 

Team Synergy and Best Compositions with VYSE. 

VYSE is best suited in this context in a team formation that seeks to have tight control and order in its operations. He is also most effective when combined with other agents that can exploit their power to manipulate time. 

Best Agents to Pair with VYSE: 

Brimstone: VYSE complements Brimstone’s smokes and ability to create area control which can be pushed or locked down. 

Raze: VYSE’s crowd control enhances with Raze’s explosive damage type, which is efficient in defeating slow-moving opponents. 

Killjoy: With Killjoy’s turret and utility the enemies can be pinned in areas that have been turned into an array of time by VYSE.  

Worst Agents to Pair with VYSE: 

Jett: There are times wherein Jett goes fast and mobile while VYSE is slow and supports the slow, systematic movement. 

Phoenix: Phoenix’s need for autonomy may pose a problem to VYSE’s focused coordination ability, hence, the charac-ters may not be particularly efficient when teamed up. 

Countering VYSE: Things to Look For 

 As a very strong agent of change, VYSE indeed has his counters. Other players can counter him which reduces the efficiency of the skills he is masters at and enhances his faulty mechanics. 

How to Counter VYSE: 

Mobility is Key: Characters such as VYSE or those who are slow moving but who have high mobility like Jett,are adversely affected by this move. 

Play Around His Utility: Avoid applying pressure where VYSE’s talents are going to be utilized, that is; through choke points. He will come home along a predictable path, so do not take routes that he knows well and be ready to break through his line or wait for him to break it. 

Outsmart His Traps: It is, however, important to note that VYSE’s Chrono Trap is very loaded with capabilities but also very delicate when it comes down to the placement. able that by taking such screwy directions you can elude his traps set for you and get the best of him when he is least expecting it.
